Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Another busy week in Year 1! In Maths, we used our work on multiples last week as a launchpad for further practice of sharing, and the children are definitely growing in confidence with the concept of division. It was the final week of our English unit on ‘The Bog Baby’ and both classes planned, prepared for and produced some wonderful written pieces inspired by the text.
In Science, our ‘Animals’ topic moved on to mammals, thinking about those which travel in the sea, on the land and in the air. Our Geography activity was creating season spinners, to help us understand how a farm changes throughout the year. In History, following on from our wonderful trip to Brooklands Museum last week, we learnt about the first aeroplanes to fly successfully.
Have a great weekend!
