Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
The term is racing by, and the penultimate week was yet another busy one! The children wowed us with their wonderful performances in the Spring Concert on Thursday, as part of the Year 1 and 2 Choir and Sparrows Choir. We were also so impressed with their sensible behaviour during our rehearsal and in walking to and from the church, alongside their respectful listening to the other ensembles during the concert itself. Bravo!
In Maths, our attention turned to fractions, and quarters in particular. We found quarters of shapes and amounts, and the mantra of 'half and half again' was very helpful. In English, we focused on the short story of 'Bob the Bubble' and used it as a launchpad for comprehension, retelling and vocabulary work. In History, we learnt more about Queen Elizabeth I, while in Geography we discovered some amazing physical features of Australia. We also found some time for creating a certain secret something related to this coming Sunday!
One week to go, and such an exciting one...!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and a very happy Mother's Day!
