Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Dear Parents,
On the 9th of May, the Sports Department will be running the annual Parent’s Sports Festival at Drax, with kick-off scheduled for 5.15pm. This has always been a highlight in the Willington community calendar, with current parents and alumni all encouraged to get involved.
Parents’ Football - During each match, we require both male and female players to be on the pitch at any one time. The football competition will be 5 aside, there is no cap on the size of your squad. Players should wear football boots and shin pads. Coaches from Sean McInnes will referee the football matches.
Alumni Competition - Unfortunately, no players under the age of 18 may participate in the parents’ football tournament. Instead, ex pupils under the age of 18 will take part in their own tournament, with the winners taking on the staff team! Have the apprentices become the masters? Time will tell.
Netball Tournament - Netball matches will be 7 aside, there is no cap on the size of your squad. Playing bibs will be provided, and trainers/astro shoes should be worn as it will take place on the astro. Coaches from Boom Boom Netball will referee the netball matches.
Note: If your team is entering both the football and netball tournaments, you need to have enough players to ensure that you are able to cope with the potential scenario of your netball and football teams playing at the same time. Any squad of less than 12 players is not permitted to enter both the netball and football tournaments.
While the players showcase their skills on the field, parents and children can make the most of the food trucks, bar (adults only!) and activities put on by Sean McInnes and Apres. Below you will find some further information, as well as the two sign-up forms.

Netball Tournament - form
Once I have confirmed the entrants for all of the competitions, I will email the captains with further information. This is on a first come, first served basis, so please fill your forms out as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We look forward to an evening filled with fun, sportsmanship, and community spirit. Get ready to lace up your trainers and boots, show off your skills, and join us for what promises to be an unforgettable event!
