Week 2
Another busy week for Year 6 as 11+ preparations are in full swing!
In Maths, we focused on long multiplication and division and revising how to do this quickly under pressure. In English, we have reached Chapter 12 of our class text, Holes, and Mrs Battey has been challenging us to write persuasive paragraphs to sell on our characters inventions, and we peer marked them to spot ways we could elevate each others work. It was really fun. In Drama, Ms. Wilkinson has us thinking about how we use our voice. She taught us the nonsense Karawani poem, and we had to use our voices to communicate meaning when there was non! In STEM, we have continued to focus on lab safety - especially since next week we are planning to do our first bunsen burner experiment. In Art, Miss Beere has been teaching us about African art and we have been drawing our own patterns. In Humanities, Mrs Draper taught us how to place dates within their correct centuries in History, and in Geography we have learnt how to interpret climate graphs, and also add two sets of data (average temperature and precipitation) onto a dual axis climate graph. In French, we have been learning how to discuss where people live, using the verb 'habiter' in a sentence. Have a great weekend!
