This week has seen us through the first full five days of our timetable!
In Maths, we started with the value of numerals in 2-digit numbers, moved on to recognising and writing numerals in words, and ended the week solving place value problems.
In English, we read the text ‘Dinosaurs and All That Rubbish’; a story with a strong message about the need to protect the Earth and share its resources. The children worked in pairs to place the story illustrations in the correct sequence of events, recreated settings using watercolour paints. As a class, they then came up with adjectives to describe their painted settings on post-it notes. Each child then used the adjectives their peers had come up with, to write a short setting description paragraph.
In Science, we began our topic ‘Taking Care’ with a look at ‘A Day in the Life of Blobble’, an alien who commits a series of blunders during his day, with regards to keeping healthy.
In History, we began our Tudors topic by looking at the rise of the Tudors and explored the events and aftermath of the Battle of Bosworth, which led to the rise of the Tudors.
Have a wonderful weekend!
