This week in Reception, we dove into the world of letters and sounds by introducing three new black cat sounds: 's,' 'a,' and 't.' The children had a blast getting creative with these sounds, making their own sparkly and sandy letter "s," a touchy-feely letter 't,' and a vibrant apple print letter 'a.'
We’ve also taken our first steps into blending sounds, using 's,' 'a,' and 't' to form simple words like 'at' and 'sat.' In Maths, we began our number adventures by focusing on 0 and 1, with lots of practice forming them.
Exploring shapes has been another exciting part of our week, with the children learning about circles, squares, and rectangles. We even recreated Wassily Kandinsky’s Concentric Circles and Piet Mondrian’s Composition with Red, Yellow, and Blue, using shapes to create their unique styles!
We wish you all a good weekend.
