DAY 2 CHALLENGE / WERO
WATCH - 1+ a Day - Young Ocean Explorers
DO - go outside and see if you can find one piece of plastic rubbish each. Ask your teacher to take a photo of your class with their rubbish. Count the pieces of rubbish your class found, and ask your teacher to upload your photo and tally to the Young Ocean Explorers website. Don't forget to put the rubbish in the bin.
CHOOSE ONE OR MORE OF THESE ACTIVITIES:
THINK - how can we look after our area? Discuss ideas. Start a list.
IMAGINE - draw your ideal natural environment for your area. Label the parts that are different from what is there now. For example; community recycling bins, no rubbish on the roadside or beach, lots of fish in the sea.
SORT - look at the different types of rubbish you have found. Use this tally chart to record your findings (copy and/or print). What type of rubbish did you find the most of? PREDICT - if you collect rubbish every day for the 21 days which kids of rubbish do you think there will be most of? Why?
