DAY 16

What future do you want for YOUR area?

What could your rohe (area) be like for your mokopuna / grandchildren? Today it's time to DREAM and think big - to make a '100 year plan' for what you would like your area to be like in 100 years time.

DAY 16 CHALLENGE / WERO

Go outside and see if you can find one piece of plastic rubbish each. Count the pieces of rubbish your class found, and upload your tally to the Young Ocean Explorers website. Don't forget to put the rubbish in the bin.

WATCH - what was it like in one area in the past? What has changed?

The Noises are a group of island in the Hauraki Gulf, near Auckland.

'Song for the Noises' (3min 15)

Draw a map of your area with your ideas for what it will be like in the future if people are kaitiaki - make sure to label the special features you want to see.

Then have a look at all the ideas in your class. Do you see some other ideas that you like? Maybe you could come up with a plan that uses other people's ideas too.
