Today we are going to think about what our area used to be like (what did you find out from your interviews?) and then think about what we would like our area to be like for our children and grandchildren. We are going to make a 100 year plan.
DAY 15 CHALLENGE / WERO
Go outside and see if you can find one piece of plastic rubbish each. Count the pieces of rubbish your class found, and ask your teacher to upload your tally to the Young Ocean Explorers website. Don't forget to put the rubbish in the bin.
WATCH - Song for the crayfish - remembering times long ago.
Think about the changes Keith and Ailsa Lewis have seen in their lifetime. They want to see their children and grandchildren look after the area so that they can carry on fishing and diving as they did.
Share what you found out from your interview.
Think about what you want to see in your area in the future - what would you like it to be like for your children and grandchildren?
Write a class list of ideas. What in you local environment would you like to keep as it is? What would you like to change?
