Today we are going to get ready to interview someone who knew our area a long time ago - a grandparent, family friend, kaumatua, long-standing community member etc.
DAY 14 CHALLENGE / WERO
Go outside and see if you can find one piece of plastic rubbish each. Count the pieces of rubbish your class found, and upload your tally to the Young Ocean Explorers website. Don't forget to put the rubbish in the bin.

Who is the oldest member of your family? Or perhaps you have a neighbour or family friend who has been around for many years.
Interview someone who has lived in your area for a while. You are going to ask them about their memories of the environment when they were your age. Think about WHO you will talk to. You could phone them or go and see them. You will do this for homework. You might need to ask your parents to help you find someone to interview.
Plan the questions you will ask them.
What has changed in the local environment? What hasn’t?
You will need to write down the answers so that you can report back to class tomorrow.
