School Day Schedules
Early Dismissal & Emergency Closing During School Hours
If a severe storm or other emergency develops during school hours precipitating an early dismissal, parents/guardians of students will be automatically notified via email, voice message, and text message. Notices also will be posted on the Westfield Public School District website and on the district's social media pages. Please remember to notify your child's school with any updates/changes to your home phone, cell phone, or email address (used for messaging alert system).
Emergency School Closings
Regularly scheduled school days may be cancelled due to snow or other serious conditions involving danger to staff and students on the way to and from school. Administration officials use clear judgment in determining closings and delayed openings, always with your child's safety as a priority.
Parents/guardians will be automatically notified of school closing information via email, voice message, and text message. You do not need to register yourself for emergency alerts. During the school year, it is important that you notify your child's school with any updates/changes to your home phone, cell phone, or email address (used for messaging alert system).
If no emergency closing announcement has been made, and if a parent feels weather conditions are too adverse, that parent may exercise his/her own judgment in sending his/her child to school. An absence of this nature will be deemed excused if accompanied by a parent note, but considered chargeable to the student's attendance record.
School closing information will be announced on:
