18-19 Traditional Korean Dessert for Charity (Service)

In 2018 through 2019's school year, I joined the Korean Club, along with few other clubs that I've joined. Me and other friends and seniors did many collaborate and fun activities together.

The Korean Club has decided to take up a spot for a Booth and sell Korean food, as we have done for the past decade. We decided on selling Hwachae, a traditional dessert which is a mix of watermelon and a drink of your choice, and some Korean snacks such as dumplings or Kimbab.

I have never worked on a Booth where you will have to prepare what you will serve to your customers on this quite huge scale, but I volunteered to be the part of the booth by putting watermelon into the cups we provided to our customers.

In the booth there was about six more people working with me, three for the desserts and three for the snacks. This meant teamwork was crucial as one person making a mistake means we might delay our production of our food in a significant way, but it also meant that others can help one another to help fix one's mistakes.

This experience overall was challenging to me, as the booths that I've participated so far was only selling made goods, not anything that you had to prepare as soon as the orders came in. This booth was a huge success, and all the profit made was donated to charity, for helping the reunification of North and South Korea.
