During the school year 2021 ~ 2022 I had the wonderful chance to introduce Korean food to primary students at the Wells Banga Campus with the Korean Club. We had prepared a short presentation that talked about Tteokbokki which is a traditional Korean dish and introduced the history of Tteokbokki as well as a type of Tteokbbokki called Gungjung Tteokbokki.
Andy, who is one of the leaders of the Korean Club for school year 2021~2022, had asked for volunteers which I gladly said I am available.
I had also worked with Tommy from G12, and I mostly worked on the history and the recipe of the original Tteokbokki. I had very shallow knowledge with Gungjung Tteokbokki as I never had the chance to try it before, so it was difficult for me to write about it. Luckily, Andy and Tommy took responsibility for the Gungjung Tteokbokki and we assembled the slides.
Another difficulty that I faced was that I was not good at talking to kids. Because our audience was young, they would often interrupt or let their thoughts out throughout the presentation. However, I tried my best to be nice and answer or respond to the kids well, which I think worked well.
