Korean Club Booth

For 2020-2021, I took part in the Korean Club Booth for the IB ShowCAS. The profits we made from the booth are planned to be donated to charitable causes in Korea in the future, but currently, the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted such donations from happening.

It was challenging from the beginning to set up the booth. We had a little time to prepare for the booth because we had to be ready for the dance performance as well. We all worked together as quickly as possible to set up the booth.

We were stationed at the corner of the gym, so we had to make the best efforts to attract teachers and students to buy our products. It was difficult to make sales even when we attracted potential customers due to the high price.

After the booth ended, we had a little talk to decide on what our next booth could be that follows COVID-19 regulations. We didn't have an immediate plan but we learned from this experience that we need strategies to make sales while following the COVID-19 regulations.

GreenHawks Booth

For the 2020 PTC, the GreenHawks club put up a booth to sell reusable bottles and metal straws. Our primary audience was the parents who came to the PTC.

For me it was difficult to speak to the parents passing by as they all seemed busy. I had trouble catching the attention of the parents to start selling. My friends who did the booth together helped each other to catch the attention of parents. We had to have confidence and just blurt out our greetings and start introducing our products.

The PTC was done on Friday without any classes. Although I wanted to take the day to relax, I knew that our sales will be used in supporting green causes which gave me the motivation.

However, our sales weren't looking good. The bottles were leftover from the past students of the GreenHawks, so we had to develop strategies and promotions as we were making sales. In the end, we were able to sell about 80% of the bottles we had in stock and 60% of the straws.
