Learning Objectives and Experiences
Understanding Gemstone Trading and Business Management
I gained knowledge about the various kinds of gemstone cuttings, their meanings, and how they impact a gem's value throughout my internship. I learned how discussions and transactions occur in this specialized market by watching trading procedures. I gained a personal understanding of the gemstone industry's operations, from sourcing to selling, thanks to this experience.
Marketing & Graphic Design
Additionally, I worked on creating marketing material for Aahana Gems' social media profiles. This allowed me to use my graphic design abilities in a work environment, producing eye-catching posters and ads to improve the business's visibility. I was able to obtain real-world expertise in branding and digital marketing as a result.
Attending the Gems and Jewelry Fair
Attending a well-known gem and jewelry fair was one of the pleasures of my internship. This experience gave me important insight into the competitive environment of the sector. I saw personally how various businesses showcase their goods to draw in potential customers, saw how experts interact with consumers, and watched customer interactions.

Introduction
I had the chance to work as an intern for my CAS project at Aahana Gems Co. Ltd., a business that specializes in dealing gemstones, especially sapphires and rubies. I learned about various cuts, trade operations, and customer relations during the course of a month, which gave me insight into the gemstone industry. I also created posters and ads for the company's social media accounts, which helped with their marketing initiatives. Attending a reputable gem and jewelry fair was another aspect of my experience that taught me about actual business dealings.
Challenges and Overcoming Them
Understanding the more complex aspects of gemstone value was one of the difficulties I encountered. I had to ask a lot of questions and conduct my own research because it was a whole new topic to me in order to understand the conversations. It was also a learning curve to create ads that fit the company's branding because I had to make sure my artistic output met their high expectations. I was able to increase understanding and produce exceptional levels work with the help of my mentors and diligent effort.
