Learning outcomes
Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Students are able to see themselves as individuals with various abilities and skills, of which some are more developed than others.
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
A new challenge may be an unfamiliar experience or an extension of an existing one. The newly acquired or developed skills may be shown through experiences that the student has not previously undertaken or through increased expertise in an established area.
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Students demonstrate regular involvement and active engagement in CAS.
For my CAS activity, I played basketball every Saturday for a few weeks. It was a really fun experience that helped me stay active and spend time with others. Even though I’m not an athlete, I enjoyed learning the basics of the game and improving little by little each week.
At first, it was challenging because I wasn’t confident in my skills, and I sometimes felt nervous about not playing as well as others. But over time, I became more comfortable and started to enjoy the challenge. I learned how to pass better, take shots, and move more confidently on the court.
This experience showed me that I don’t have to be perfect at something to enjoy it. I’m proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone and kept showing up every week. It made me realize how fun and rewarding it can be to try something new, even if it’s challenging at first.
