For my CAS Creativity experience, I spent time exploring different styles and techniques in art. Instead of sticking to just one medium, I experimented with painting, sketching, and collage. Each type of art challenged me in a new way, and I enjoyed the process of discovering how different tools and materials could be used to express ideas.
Trying new forms of art pushed me out of my comfort zone. Some techniques didn’t come easily at first, but I kept practicing and was surprised by what I could create. One of the most exciting parts was realizing that there are so many ways to make art—there’s no single “correct” way. I began to focus more on creativity and expression rather than making things look perfect.
This experience helped me become more open-minded and confident in my creative abilities. It also taught me that experimenting and making mistakes is a part of the artistic process. I now look forward to continuing to explore art in new and meaningful ways.
Learning Outcomes
1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Students can see themselves as individuals with various abilities and skills, some more developed than others.
2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
A new challenge may be an unfamiliar experience or an extension of an existing one. The newly acquired or developed skills may be shown through experiences that the student has not previously undertaken or through increased expertise in an established area.
4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Students demonstrate regular involvement and active engagement in CAS.
