In 6th grade we work to help students successfully transition from elementary school to middle school, both socially and academically.

In 7th grade, the focus begins to shift to high school preparation.

The 8th grade year works to prepare students for a successful transition to high school.
This group of selected students (membership is by application and requires a teacher recommendation) help welcome new students by providing tours and eating lunch with new students their first few days of school. They also often help with tours for families and other activities during community events and open houses, like the rising 6th grade open house in August.
Grief Group:
This group is typically offered once a year and is a mixed grade level group (6th, 7th, and 8th graders together, depending on student need). This six-week program helps children and teens connect with and relate to others at their school who have experienced a loss. Groups meet once a week and are co-led by a Transitions GriefCare counselor and the School Counselor. Participants in the groups may have a variety of types of losses (e.g., loss of parent, grandparent, sibling). See additional information here.
