CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR RISING NINTH GRADERS!

The WFMS Student Services Team is excited to help our students transition into high school! This is a big change for students, and we are prepared to motivate and support them in their academic pathways. Please review all the information below for a comprehensive overview the high school registration process.

Registration Process:

Counselors will present a registration lesson with all students. The students will then have time to consider their options and talk with their parents about their choices. Then, students will complete registration on PowerSchool with their eighth grade counselor, Ms. Pertell.

Wake County High School Registration Guide:

This hefty document is the complete, comprehensive guide to all things high school in Wake County. If you have a question, this document most likely has the answer! We recommend reading the first 17 pages for a general overview of high schools in Wake County. After that, there are course descriptions of all courses in Wake County. Happy reading!

High School Athletics:

Many high school athletics will begin try-outs and practices before the beginning of the school year. Each high school will offer their own timetables on these opportunities. All high schools will require registration with the WCPSS approved online registration system called DragonFly. Please find instructions on how to register in that system here.

At Wake Forest Middle School, our students transition into many different high schools. It is important for students and parents to learn about their specific high schools and attend their school's curriculum nights.

Please find the open house and ninth grade registration details at the links below. We will continue to add information from these schools as it becomes available. If your student is attending a WCPSS High School not listed below or you need further assistance with registration, please contact the eighth grade counselor, Ms. Rhonda Pertell, for your student.

Please view the registration PowerPoint that Ms. Pertell, eighth grade counselor, shared with all eighth graders about registering for high school. Thank you!
