Track Description: The pathway begins in agriscience which looks at the production and evaluation of agricultural products. Students will gain hands on experience in this class by working with small livestock animals, Well-Fed Garden and small gardens on campus, and develop plans for food waste. Students learn about the importance of soil and water conservation while understanding crop production and specialty practices (like bee keeping, mushroom production, hydroponic production, etc).
**Students in these courses have a 20 hour experience-based project (Supervised Agriculture Experience)
After Completing this Track: Students should understand small scale ag production and how it applies to environmental issues. Students should be able to make informed decisions regarding food production and understand agricultural policies.
Careers Correlating: Small Production Farmer, Ag Educator, Extension Agent, Biologist, Sociologist, Economist, Soil and Water Conservationist, Large Animal Veterinarian, Politician, etc.
