Track Description: The pathway begins in Parenting and Child Development where the foundation of basic developmental milestones knowledge and parenting skills are taught. Baby simulations are used for hands-on experience throughout the class. Early Childhood Education l & ll introduces students to the teaching skills of infancy through adolescence years and applies learning in field experience at local daycares/preschools.
*The ECE classes are run for TWO periods during a single semester. Students MUST be 16 for ECE and have a negative TB test.
After Completing this Track: Students should be ready to work at a child care center, raise children, babysit, and nanny successfully. Information learned within these classes will be valuable throughout life.
Credentials Offered: CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens through American Heart Association
Careers Correlating: Early Childhood Educator, teacher, counselor, nanny, etc.
