Track Description: The pathway focuses on providing a general overview of professions in public safety while learning about natural disaster response and emergency management. Students earn a number of FEMA certifications, CPR, and CERT. Course information is delivered through computer platform with quizzes and online assignments. There are weekly class lectures and discussions along with visitation from community professionals (firefighters, police officers, etc). This is a great course to take before taking EMT courses.
After Completing this Track: Students should have a working knowledge of what is required for a person to get a job in the Public Safety field. They should know what to do to take care of themselves and their families in a time of need before, during, and after a disaster.
