Track Description: The pathway focuses on reading and following recipes, using general kitchen equipment, developing critical thinking to plan meals and menus based on a variety of variables (ex. nutritional, dietary, cultural and financial), demonstrate baking skills and understand the link between farm and table. Students will have an opportunity to demonstrate food safety skills and can obtain the ServSafe Certification. Weekly classes consist of traditional classroom learning, in-lab activities, group work, and assessment.
*Available for 10-12 Grade Students
After Completing this Track: Students should be able to take care of basic food needs, have confidence in the kitchen, demonstrate creativity, and understand how to effectively shop on a budget.
