Week 17: 12/9-12/13
Monday: Students took a deeper dive into the Latin American Independence Movements via a Webquest. Once they finished, they continued their examination of the various movements with the Latin American Independence Movements GeoInquiry.
HW: Begin reviewing for the Latin American Revolutions Quiz that will be on WEDNESDAY!
Tuesday: Students worked on Document Based Questions around the leaders of the Latin American Independence Movements. As a class, we read the Background Essay, and then worked together to complete Document C. Students then completed Document F on their own for a classwork grade.

Wednesday: As a class, we used our "Stages of a Revolution" framework to review the Latin American Independence movements. Students then took their final assessment for Unit 5, the Latin American Revolutions QUIZ. With time remaining, we viewed the "Evolution of a Revolution TED Talk, and students were asked to hypothsize what revolution modern-day America needs.

Thursday: Students used the class period to work on their Digital Portfolio for all of their classes. Students were expected to complete their About Me and upload at least one artifact from one of their classes.
HW: None
Friday: Students began Unit 6: Industrialism with the Assembly Line Simulation. With time remaining, students completed their Unit 6 Vocabulary. We will correct/confirm on Monday!
HW: Have all of Unit 6 Vocabulary done to be ready to go over it Monday!
Week 16: 12/2-12/6
Monday: Students continued their investigation of the French Revolution by analyzing primary source documents with the DBQ Stations. With their table group, students visited each of the four stations. Students got to choose which of the four I graded :)
HW: Begin reviewing for Wednesday's French Revolution Quiz!
Tuesday: As a class, we worked through our very first Esri GeoInquiry, which focuses on Napoleon. These GeoInquiries are awesome tools to get our Warriors practicing with maps!

Wednesday: As a class, we viewed the Napoleon TED talk, before students determined if they viewed Napoleon as a hero or tyrant for France. Students took the French Revolution Quiz.

Thursday: We discussed the Anatomy of a Revolution, and students took guided notes. We used both the American and French Revolution to frame our anatomical discussion to compare the different stages that all revolutions go through, and what makes them different from a rebellion. With time remaining, we viewed the French Revolution Oversimplified.

Friday: Students began our study of the Latin American Revolutions with an introductory reading and reading questions packet. As a class, we discussed the inequalities found in the Spanish social hierarchy, and which groups would be most likely to revolt against the Spanish in the New World.
HW: Finish the Intro Reading Questions if you don't finish in class. DUE MONDAY!
Saturday: Students worked on the Latin American Independence Movement Packet from yesterday.

Week 15: 11/25 & 11/26
Monday: Students then took Guided Notes on the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror.
HW: None!
Tuesday: Students continued their notes on the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror. With the time remaining, we viewed the French Revolution Flocabulary Video, and made up our own lyrics.
HW: None! Have a great break :)

Week 14: Nov 18-Nov 22
Monday: Students worked through the Causes of the American Revolution using the Parent/Child Analogies.
HW: None!
Tuesday: Students finished the Parent/Child Analogies Notes from yesterday.
HW: Work on the Declaration Analysis, this is due Friday. Begin studying for Thursday's Quiz!
Wednesday: Students read through the Greatest Breakup Letter of All-Time and viewed a remix video about the Declaration of Independence. With a partner, students analyzed the Declaration with time remaining, putting sections into their own words and sketching an image to help them with understanding. We ended the day with the Declaration TED Talk if we had time.
HW: Study for tomorrow's QUIZ on the causes of the American Revolution! Declaration Analysis is due Friday.
Thursday: Students took their American Revolution Quiz. As soon as they finished, they began working again on their Declaration Analysis.

Friday: Students turned in their Declaration Analysis. As a class, we filled out the French Revolution Graphic Organizer, using the "French Revolution Begins" Reading and the French Revolution DiscoveryEd Video.

Week 13: Nov 12-Nov 16
Wednesday: Students shared their Campaign Website with a candidate from the other viewpoint. Students visited the Book Fair with the remainder of class.
HW: None!
Thursday: We began our work on our next unit, the Age of Revolutions, with the Age of Revolutions Vocab. Students completed a "Chalk Talk" to get us thinking about Revolutions and why people rebel.
HW: Finish the Unit Vocabulary if not finish in class.
Friday: Students reviewed the French & Indian War to help us set the stage for the American Revolution. We confirmed OR corrected their Unit Vocabulary words. As a class, we read the "Autonomy of the American Colonies" article and discussed the questions that accompanied it.
HW: None!
Saturday: Students viewed "Crash Course World History: Causes of the American Revolution" to preview our study of the American Revolution. Students played Kahoot! on the Causes of the American Revolution with any time remaining.

Week 17: Dec 9-Dec 13
Monday: Students worked individually on the Latin American WebQuest activity. When they finished, they created Latin American Revolutionary Leader Stick Figures, based on the Robespierre example from the French Revolution.
