I felt really insecure about a double appointment I had: did I need to go to a focus group session or give my scheduled workgroup. In addition, I was new to the Institute and did not know if I was allowed to just reschedule my workgroup with the students. I kept delaying this decision to the very last moment - at this point I had to reschedule the workgroup with the students some 30 minutes previous to the actual workgroup. I emailed them all, was able to reschedule, booked a room and informed the coordinators of the course. Their positive feedback on my pro-active attitude alleviated my insecurities and resulted in a very positive learning moment. Now, I feel less insecure when I need to make a drastic decision.
