In this presentation, the Budget Office will provide you with an overview of the purpose and related policies associated with a budget transfer, directions on how to complete a budget transfer, and resource documents to reference after you have completed the training. All of this information is provided additionally in your Budget Transfer Manual to reference after the training.

This course will cover Internal Controls and Fiscal Responsibility as they relate to the role of the Department Head.

This includes Centers & Institutes, University Purchasing, Sponsored Projects, Human Resources, IT Security, Health & Safety, Virginia Tech Foundation, Conflict of Interest and Office of Audit, Risk & Compliance. 

This course is a four-tier program designed to help you navigate Excel online. The skills taught in this course can stand independently, but will also be necessary for success in the Fiscal Training Program.  Each tier will offer a micro-credential, also known as a digital badge. If all four tiers are completed, the learner will earn the Excel Data Master Badge. 

This course will provide information on international activities. Some of these resources were available during the Spring Business Practices Webinar which provided guidance and resources within a problem and solution framework. Each of those sessions presented an overview of a hypothetical yet feasible scenario, along with directions on how to identify solutions using university policies, procedures, and relevant websites. To support those learning opportunities, we have added additional resources to this course.   

In this four tier program, the learner will have the opportunity to review features and capabilities provided within the MicroStrategy system to utilize the system applying university best practices. Each tier will offer a micro-credential, also known as a digital badge. If all four tiers are completed, the learner will earn the Data Master Badge.
