The Fiscal Exchange
To join The Fiscal Exchange, email your request to fiscalexch@vt.edu .
The Fiscal Exchange is the rebrand of the previous group Fiscal Bunch Lunch Group (FBLG) promoting the interests of fiscal technicians at Virginia Tech. Fiscal Technicians include, but are not limited to administrative staff members who perform departmental fiscal functions. FBLG is open to anyone who can benefit from the information shared.
The group was started in 1993 to establish a channel of communications for fiscal technicians to discuss ideas and procedural changes. The group now has over 700 members and meets bi-monthly during the academic year. Speakers have included many different departments such as Payroll, the Controller's Office, Purchasing, Records Management, Foundation, Human Resources, Internal Audit and others. In addition to improving communications the group is also seen as a means for enhancing professional development and a way to share ideas with colleagues.
Caregiving Resources
In Virginia Tech’s continuing effort to address the growing concerns among faculty, staff, and students regarding the availability of quality child care, early education, and adult care, a new Caregiving Resources website has been created.
The website provides a one-stop resource for information about campus child care and eldercare resources, contacts for community and state organizations that Virginia Tech is partnering with to address the need for more caregiving resources, the latest Virginia Tech news about caregiving efforts, and more.
