Today we're talking about goals!
Is there anything you'd like to achieve for yourself in the next couple of weeks?
A personal goal?
A few examples might be:
Improve my mood
Manage stress
Master a new skill
Try something new
Be more like Kermit the frog
Overcome fear of being naked
Laugh at squirrels more
You know, nothing too big, but something you can feel good about. Try to think of one you'd like to do and write it down before we move on
Thanks for giving it some thought !
Have you heard of SMART goals?
SMART means Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-limited
It's about breaking down a goal into time-specific behaviors that will help you achieve it
So--things like "Be more like Kermit the Frog" or "Be happier" might be too vague to fit as a SMART goal, they're more like aspirations.
For instance, instead of a goal of "stop staying up late" a SMART goal would be "I will get X hours more sleep."
Another example might be "read more" would be better re-written as "I'm going to read ten pages a day for the next week"
This is a lot clearer and easier to understand and actually more likely I'll actually get it done.
Do you think the goal you wrote is a SMART goal? Enough that you can achieve it this week?
If not, try doing a re-write, just think in more concrete, and bite-sized pieces, give it a shot!
Looking better!
I hope you'll consider planning more goals this way, and they'll all be successful!
