Throughout this Intercultural Translation course, I gained a much deeper understanding of how culture shapes language and meaning. I learned that translating isn’t just about finding equivalent words, but about recognizing the cultural references, values, and perspectives embedded within a text. Before this course, I often approached translation in a more literal way, but now I understand how easily meaning can be distorted when cultural context is ignored. This experience helped me develop greater sensitivity toward cultural nuances and taught me the importance of adapting a text so it can truly resonate with audiences from different backgrounds. Overall, the course broadened my perspective and strengthened my ability to approach translations with both linguistic and cultural awareness.
