Music is a source of joy for wise people, it is able to evoke good thoughts in the people, it penetrates deeply into their minds and easily changes their customs and customs .
(Xun Tzu).
We use music-based wellbeing sessions to support people’s physical, emotional, communication and social needs through live musical interaction, play and improvisation — using voice and instruments in any style that fits the person. We work with the building blocks of music (melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo, pitch, timbre, structure and texture) to help people regulate, connect, express what’s hard to say, and build their own “musical language” for making sense of their experience. I run a regular Saturday music group, explore how music practice supports creative development, teach people to make simple musical instruments from everyday materials, and often combine music with painting so sound and colour work together.
