Uni & U

Uni&U is a programme of events, running twice a year at the University of Sussex campus, bringing together young people from across Sussex with experience of care to find out more about university. 

The events are designed to give a real and exciting insight into university life and a better awareness what higher education could offer in the future. It is for all young people with experience of care – they do not need to be considering university, or to have even thought about it before! 

The events will be supported by current university students with experience of care themselves, who will be able to answer questions and offer guidance and insight into their own higher education experiences.

Students will be offered the opportunity to attend at least 2 events per year at the University of Sussex campus, plus the option to be paired with a care experienced student mentor, who will be a current university student at one of our local universities. All events are optional and there is no expectation to commit to every activity. 

There will also likely be occasional additional events and activities that will be offered, with a particular focus or visit (e.g. visits to other university campus’, or a subject focussed day, such a Law-Master class). This may be as the Uni&U group, or joining a wider event along with other students too.

Uni & U Launch Event 2

The second launch event of this academic year takes place on Wednesday 13th March, and the day will run from 10am - 2pm. A programme outline is below, but this is subject to slight change.
