Sussex Writes is the flagship community outreach programme of the School of Media, Arts, and Humanities. Supported by faculty, undergraduates, post-graduates and doctoral researchers work together to design and deliver inspiring creative literacy workshops in the local community.
Event details:
A maximum of ten weeks of weekly support in school, from late January 2024 on Wednesdays or Thursdays, or Friday mornings.
3-5 Sussex Writes team members working with up to 35 pupils to enable small group work and high tutor-to-pupil ratios
Providing additional literacy and writing support for the pupils that your school feels will benefit the most from a Sussex Writes programme
Can provide project-based learning opportunities or address a universal theme, such as 'hope', 'refuge' or 'sustainable futures', that complement the national curriculum.
Previous projects have included:
Creating a class/group poetry or short story collection, podcast, or short video
Exploring and developing the skills for Unseen Poetry analysis through creative workshops
