Additional Information

This delivery will require the following:

Our LEGO after-school programme focuses on:

-          Promoting exploratory learning

-          Generating interest in STEM pathways

-          HE pathways, qualifications + student progression, via our WP ambassadors

-          Supporting essential learning skills

-          Creating a space for fun, joy and creative expression

-          Developing understanding of stack coding and simple engineering

-          Fostering a sense of community amongst students

Sessions have a loose structure to support extension of essential learning skills using LEGO and the space will be cultivated to be as free and exploratory as possible. Students will be offered different ways to engage with the LEGO kits. The initial sessions will introduce the kit, learning how to use the programming software and construct functioning robots. The final 1-2 sessions will give students the space to create their own unique designs, test them, and perfect them.

Our Widening Participation ambassadors are all trained in the specific pedagogy of this session, as well as safeguarding. All ambassadors and staff have completed enhanced DBS checks.
