FIRST SESSION: PREVIOUS KNOWLEGDE
The first session will be used to explain the topic and also to stabilize what they know and the new concepts they will learn.
Firstly, students will sit on the floor and a letter will arrive to the classroom. It will be read out loud for all the students and in it the story will be explained. The story explains that Jon has anxiety and he does not know exactly how his emotions are or how to regulate them. Because of that, he asks for help from the students. They will be sent to “The emotions world” in which they will learn about different feelings and different techniques to control them. In “The emotions world” Laia (a bee from that universe) will be responsible to help them and teach them what they have to do. Afterwards, Jon asks them to give him all they have done in a box that they will create.
Apart from the letter, a map will arrive where children will see all the different challenges that they will have to overcome in order to help Jon and take back the box to their home.
Finally, all the class together will discuss and write down what they can do to help Jon, this way we will evaluate the knowledge they had before doing the exercise.
Skills: Students will practise firstly their communication skills while reading the text aloud and finally, in the discussion they will have to use their critical thinking.
Objectives: Evaluate the knowledge they had before starting.
Evidence: They will have to write down one idea and save it.
