Pilar Santamaría

Pilar nació en Madrid. De pequeña, apuntaba a un futuro relacionado con el mundo de la Ciencia, pues desarmaba algunos relojes digitales hasta ver de dónde salían los números. Además, había programado un Expectrum. También mostraba gran interés por el pilotaje de aviones y el funcionamiento de estos.

Su mayor motivación para seguir en su carrera es superar sus objetivos y hacer felices a las personas que la rodean, especialmente a su familia, y construir un mejor entorno profesional.

Pilar was born in Madrid. When she was young, she showed promise as someone related to the world of Science; not only did she disassembled digital clocks in order to see where the numbers came from, but also showed grest interest for planes driving and their functioning.

Her main motivation is to overcome setbacks and make happy those who sorround her, specially her family, as well as to buil a better professional environment.

Estudió Ingeniería de Telecomunicación en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, un máster de Administración de Empresas y Administración en la Universidad de Navarra, y un máster de Innovación y Estrategias digitales basadas en lT en la Universidad Europea.

Tiene más de 20 años de experiencia en el sector IT, en gestión de negocio e ingeniería en las áreas de Cloud, loT, inteligencia artificial y Blockchain. Ha desarrollado su carrera en España e internacionalmente en Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, Nortel y Siemens. Es fundadora de la Asociación Nacional de CiberProtección, además de profesora e investigadora en ciberseguridad en la Universidad Europea, ingeniera en Telecomunicaciones, y vicepresidenta de Innovación para EMEA y ACTO de Dell.

She studied Telecommunication Engineering at the Politechnic University of Madrid, a master in Business Management at the University of Navarra, and a master in Innovation and Digital Strategies at the European University.

She counts with more than 20 years of experience in this field of IT. She has developed her career both nationally and internationally, in Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, Nortel and Siemens, Not only is she the founder of the National Association on Cyberprotection, but also teacher and researcher at the European University, telecommunication engineer and vice president of Innovation for EMEA.

Ha sido nominada Experta en Cloud por la Comisión Europea.

Obtuvo el premio profesional más prestigioso de España: “Excelencia profesional en la carrera”.

She was been nominated Expert in Cloud by the European Commission. In addition, she was given the most prestigious award in Spain: "Excelencia profesional en la carrera"

Actualmente, Pilar está realizando su tesis en sistemas de control aplicados a la Salud en la Universidad Europea.

Además, se encuentra trabajando en Vp Innovation ,liderando las ventas, la transformación y el mercado para la innovación en EMEA, cubriendo Blockchain, Inteligencia Artificial, IoT, Cloud, Microsoft Azure Stack y otras iniciativas de innovación digital en CEO o Cloud Expert...

She's currently doing her thesis about control systems applied to health, at the European University.

Besides, she's also working for VP Innovation, leading the sales, transformation and trade for innovation in EMEA, covering Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, IT, Cloud, Microsoft, Azure Stack and other digital innovation iniciatives, in CEO or Cloud Expert

Entre sus principales retos está liderar el plan de negocio para las soluciones Big Data, facilitando así la adopción a las organizaciones que precisan inteligencia aplicada al análisis de datos.

Entre sus objetivos destaca su pasión por lograr un crecimiento rápido, basados en la innovación, la atracción del talento y la motivación de los equipos con los que trabaja.

Leading the business plan for solutions Big Data is among her main challenges. This way, organisations that need artificial intelligence applied to data analysis will have it easier to adopt it.

Achieving a rapid growth, based on innovation, of talent and motivation of the teams she works with are among her main goals.

Para Pilar, el papel de la mujer en las carreras STEM fluctúa mucho; dependiendo la carrera STEM que se elija hay diferentes puntos de vista. En algunas carreras hay muchas mujeres, como en Biología, Química, Física... pero en otras, como Matemáticas, Ingenierías, Tecnologías hay tantas. Ella cree que ninguna carrera tiene género, ya que cualquier persona es apta para estudiar lo que desee.

Pilar believes that women's role in STEM degrees may vary a lot; depending on the degree that it is chosen there are several points of view. There are some of them, such as Biology, Chemistry or Physics in which there are many women; hoewever, there are others such as Maths or Engineering in which not. She thinks that degrees do not have gender, since everyone is able to study whatever that pleases them.
