Originally I came to Clemson to pursue a degree in Bio-engineering but after my freshman year I realized that I was not enjoying this field of study as much as I had anticipated and did not want to continue onward within this major. Wanting to figure out what other programs of study I could transfer into to but not knowing where to start, I asked some friends who introduced me to Clemson's Packaging Science Program. Having grown up in the upstate area and visiting Clemson numerous times, I was quite shocked to learned I had never heard of this program of study and it immediately peaked my interest. I was immediately interested by what this field of study and what sort of course load it entailed.
I fist took PKSC 1020 in the spring of 2018 and immediately fell in love with the field of packaging science. I never knew this niche field of science existed and how it flew under my radar for so long. It's a field that is note widely known by many but is pretty much a part of our ever day lives without many of us ever realizing it. Ever since taking that first class, I have enjoyed all of my packaging science courses and learning about the different intricacies of the different parts of the industry.
