PBS is having a contest to determine the "Great American Read". People vote (until October 18) for their favorites from a list of one hundred novels. The books range from 19th century classics (e.g., Jane Eyre) to series best known for their TV or film adaptations (e.g., The Hunger Games). I've read about 30 of the 100 nominees.
You can vote once a day and today I've cast my first ballot for "A Confederacy of Dunces".
