It provides students with various opportunities to:
· Earn full and half credits
· Change to different streams or pathways,
· Improve marks,
· Recover a failed credit,
· Reach ahead to lighten future course loads,
· Complete a co-op course (regular or for SHSM qualifications)
· Try a class you’ve always been interested in!
1. Visit the GELA website: www.granderie.ca/gela
2. Click on the SUMMER SCHOOL tab on the left hand side of your screen.
3. Open the General Information Form 2017 to learn about registration due dates.
4. Open the Course Selection Sheet Revised 2017 to view the available classes.
5. Open and download the Registration Form 2017. Complete this form and drop it off in the Guidance Office.
6. Watch the website for bus information
Summer school is its OWN school – your home school is not able to trouble shoot for you. If you have any questions, please direct them to the Summer School principal Rob Malcolm (robert.malcolm@granderie.ca)
Summer School will run from Tuesday, July 4 to Friday, July 28, 2017, 8:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
The only exception to this is the start time for the first day only (July 4th) will be 10:00 a.m. while the end time for the last day only (July 28th) will be 12:00 noon.
Board transportation will be in accordance with these times.
Full Credit courses run for the entire four-week duration
Transfer program, Elementary Literacy/Numeracy program and Civics/Careers eLearning is a two- week program and runs either the first or second semester of summer school.
First semester will run July 4-14, while second semester will run July 17-28.
CREDIT RECOVERY COURSES START JULY 8th, 2017 AND END JULY 16, 2017.
Students need to contact their guidance counsellor for information.
ALL E-LEARNING COURSES WILL OPEN TO STUDENTS ON JUNE 28 THROUGH JULY.
CURRENT GEDSB STUDENTS WILL USE THEIR granderie.ca ADDRESS, WHILE OTHERS WILL PROVIDE THEIR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS.
Summer School registrations MUST be received by June 28, except 2-Credit Co-Op whose deadline is May 12, 1-Credit Co-Op whose deadline is June 16 and e-Learning whose deadline is June 23, 2017.
Reminder: All secondary school students must have forms signed by their Guidance Counsellor.
Please pay special attention to course information on the General Information form as courses vary in length and some have different start dates.
Board transportation has yet to be arranged and when that is done, bus routes will be posted to the GELA Summer School Website.
