Six Nations Polytechnic is a unique postsecondary organization, recognized by community, government, and institutions of higher learning, as a Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Knowledge. Established in Canada’s most populous First Nation there is no other place where you can invest your time to acquire skills that lead to employment as well as learn about the history, culture and philosophy of Indigenous peoples of the region. Six Nations Polytechnic began to develop partnerships with many universities and colleges to offer post-secondary education programs to the community of Six Nations and the surrounding communities. Universities include; McMaster University, Brock University, University of Waterloo, University of Guelph, University of Western Ontario, Wilfrid Laurier and Ontario College of Art University. Colleges included; Niagara, Mohawk, Fanshawe, George Brown, Conestoga, Sheridan and St. Lawrence.
Six Nations Polytechnic offers students a supportive learning experience in a unique physical and cultural environment. Whether you are completing a three-year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ogwehoweh Languages or the first year of a partnership BA with one of our six partner universities, your university experience at Six Nations Polytechnic will prepare you for a career in a wide variety of disciplines.
Six Nations Polytechnic's College Programs focus on career-specific training and trades. As with all of its programs, SNP offers students a supportive learning experience in a unique physical and cultural environment. Your College experience at SNP will prepare you for a variety of careers.
A focus to develop health-based programming began in 1999, currently, SNP partners with Mohawk College to deliver 3 nursing degree and diploma programs, plus a variety of health care programs and certificates.
The addition of Teaching Qualification courses implemented in 2014 and continues today with the offer of six certificate programs.
The vision and development of a full Language Degree program began in 1994 and was approved by the Ministry in 2016. Today SNP's Ogweho:weh Language BA is a fully accredited Degree program and runs out of both the Six Nations and Brantford campuses.
SNP has successfully delivered post-secondary education and training programs for the past twenty-three years that have allowed their students to further their education and careers goals in a wide variety of program offerings and career choices.
