Students meet with Student Services twice a year, every year, to discuss their Career Path. As the students navigate their way through high school, this pathway will hopefully become more apparent.
Step 1: Get to Know Yourself
This is typically completed during the student's first year in high school, through our semester-ly meetings. Some students will identify with a specific career pathway in mind, and others will still be in the learning stage.
Step 2: Explore Possible Pathways
By completing the Grade 10 Careers course, students will hopefully learn about themselves and a few potential careers that might be of interest to them.
Step 3: Choose a Pathway
Over the next school year, we will work together to learn about potential pathways that the student may be interested in, so that correct educational courses may be chosen.
Step 4: Pursue Chosen Pathway
Students will now be ensuring, with assistance, that they have completed all of the necessary steps in achieving the career pathway that they have identified.

Course selections are completed in the month of February, before students leave for March Break. Students will log into My Blueprint and use that program to select the courses that they are interested in taking for the following school year.
All course selection sheets must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the school.
We encourage students and parents/guardians to look at the WDHS Course Calendar together, before students begin course selections with their homeroom classes. This way all people involved in the student's education can be informed of the choices, before the requests are submitted.
