Find Your Future at Algoma U
Preview Event: Thursday Oct 1st, 5:00 – 6:00 pm Est.
As you plan to attend University in 2021, come see what Algoma U has to offer and learn the benefits of attending University. We look forward to telling you all about how you can become a future thunderbird!
Faculty / Student Interaction
The biggest advantage of smaller classes? More facetime with your professors. That means more one-on-one interactions with the person instructing, critiquing, and shaping your future.
You’ll receive valuable feedback on assignments allowing you to be the best your can be. By the end of your time at Algoma University, you’ll know your professors on a first-name basis, and they’ll know all of your goals and aspirations. Even better, they’ll help make them a reality by providing assistance during the grad-school application process or providing references for jobs. Our professors are committed to your success well after your years at Algoma U come to an end.
Small Class Atmosphere
Algoma U is the only university in Ontario that caps classes at 75 students.
You’ll never be in a class with hundreds of other students in a big lecture hall; instead, you’ll find most classes have no more than 35 students in them. This eases the transition from high school to university, and helps relieve stress. You’ll be in a setting where you’re comfortable to share your worldviews with others and ask questions. Plus, with small class sizes, there is less lecturing and more discussion. That’s what make our classes student-centered and student-driven.
Undergraduate-Only
Algoma U is an undergraduate-only university. What does that mean? It means we only teach students at the Bachelor degree level.
Algoma U does not have Master or Doctoral programs so we are able to focus all of our energy on you. We provide opportunities most students could only experience at the graduate level, but here they’re strictly for you, the undergrad! You can work in a lab beside your professor conducting sophisticated research, be a Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant, or even get published for the work you conduct throughout your studies. You’ll craft a sophisticated thesis and participate in elite competitions. You’re our priority so you get all the opportunities.
