"Walton High School proudly offers a dynamic and rigorous Mandarin Chinese program designed to develop students’ mastery in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Our curriculum spans multiple levels—from introductory courses to Advanced Placement (AP)—providing a clear pathway for language advancement and academic excellence.

Beyond language skills, the program cultivates deep cultural awareness and effective communication, equipping students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Exceptional learners have the unique opportunity to participate in the prestigious Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) in Mandarin Chinese, a selective summer program that celebrates outstanding achievement in world languages.

Course offerings include: Chinese I, Chinese II, Chinese III Honors, Chinese IV Honors, Chinese V Honors, Chinese AP, and Chinese VI Honors. Beginning with Chinese III Honors, students may also qualify for membership in the National Chinese Honors Society, recognizing their dedication and achievement in the language.
