Walton Robotics team members will be conducting robot drive practice on their full-size FIRST Robotics Competition field. In addition, team members in the build and programming departments will be conducting work sessions to fabricate parts and fine tune the robot's vision programs.
Walton Robotics, FIRST Team 2974, started in 2008 in Marietta, GA with 10 members, 2 mentors, and 2 sponsors. We now have over 40 members and many dedicated mentors and sponsors. Our coaches, Heather Guiendon and Lori Lavoy, spend 1,000 hours yearly on FIRST. During the 2025 Reefscape season, the team finished as Champions of the Dalton and Statesboro district events, Finalists at the Peachtree District Championship, and the 3rd pick of Alliance 7 on the Newton Field at the World Championships in Houston, Texas. This Fall, they were champions at the South Carolina Regional Invitational Workshops and finalists at the Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase off-season tournaments. The on-campus Walton Robotics annex opened in the fall of 2021. The Walton Robotics team would like to thank our parents and corporate sponsors who fund our robot, full-size practice field, outreach, training, and travel.
