We will host an informal Q&A session where returning team members share their experiences in the Georgia High School Mock Trial program as Walton students. Students will discuss what it’s like to prepare and compete as attorneys and witnesses, highlight the skills they’ve developed in public speaking and critical thinking, and answer questions from interested students and parents. This is a great opportunity to learn firsthand what makes Mock Trial a fun, challenging, and rewarding team experience—especially as we build on last year’s success as the 2nd-place team in the Georgia State Competition.
The Georgia High School Mock Trial program gives students the opportunity to learn about the legal system by participating in a simulated courtroom trial. Each year, teams of students take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses to present both sides of a fictional case—complete with opening statements, witness examinations, and closing arguments. Guided by local judges and attorneys, students develop skills in public speaking, critical thinking, collaboration, and persuasive writing.
Walton’s team is proud to have earned 2nd place in the Georgia State Mock Trial Competition last year, demonstrating the dedication, talent, and teamwork of our students. Teams compete at regional and state levels, with top programs advancing to the National High School Mock Trial Championship.
