Students from the French Program will be available at our table to share their experiences, discuss what it’s like to learn and use French at Walton, and answer any questions you may have about the courses, activities, and opportunities offered.
The Walton High School French Program offers a comprehensive four-year sequence designed to build students’ proficiency and cultural understanding from novice to advanced levels. Students who begin French at Walton progress through French I–IV, developing strong communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while exploring the diverse cultures of the Francophone world. Those entering with prior experience may continue into French II–V AP Language and Culture, where they refine fluency, think critically, and engage with authentic materials, literature, and global themes. Conducted primarily in French, our program emphasizes meaningful communication, cultural appreciation, and the confidence to use the language in real-world contexts, preparing students to become skilled, informed, and globally minded communicators.
