Walton Science Olympiad will be showing a few of their builds, including hovercraft, helicopter, and bungee drop.  Feel free to ask students about their work and the program.

Science Olympiad is a team in which students compete by studying specific topics or building a machine following a set of guidelines.  There are 23 events each year that students can compete in similar to a track meet. The Walton Science Olympiad team has been competing each year since 1994.  We have 65 members that make up 4 teams of 15 students that compete in all the events.  Last year, we won the Georgia State Competition and competed in the National tournament.  We are the first ever high school from Cobb County team to win the state competition and it was only the second time that Cobb County sent a high school to Nationals (the first time was also by Walton in 2022).
