Researchable Question

To what extent does the integration of 3D processes enhance the creative possibilities in the production of art pieces?

Proposal

We will scan a variety of objects to bring into 3D modeling software so that we can modify the models.
After modifying the models, we will 3D print the object and attempt to encase it in epoxy. Our project aims to use a combination of the skills we learned in class to create art.

Timeline

Scanning: Mar. 1st — 10th
Modify scans: Mar. 11th — 31st
Prototype molds: Apr. 1st — 11th
Final details: Apr. 12th — 25th
Finish: Apr. 25th

3D Resin Print and Laser cut

Pictured is our poster and our 3D resin print prototype. The base of the print is a topographical map of an area in the Philippines.

In the future we wish to encase the print in epoxy/resin and then finally polish it.
