For this benchmark, I decided to scan a bust statue that I have lying around, since I felt like it would be captured beautifully with its texture and shading.
I say the scan turned out pretty fantastic. The only few notes I would give out is that the scanner on my phone scanned part of my room as well and didn't capture 2 small sections of the hair well enough. Other than that, this went very smooth.
After I scanned my object, I used Blender to create a closed manifold object, cleaning the hair and removing the floor of the model making it 3D print friendly. After doing so, I added some lighting and rendered the model to show the quality of the scan and it's textures. Its a little hard to tell but the scan with the shading is able to fully show the texture of the model, veins, and small details like small paint splatters and glitter. I really like doing this sort of scanning to modeling and will definitely be doing more so in the future.
