RUTLAND, Ohio — Mayor Tyler M. Eblin, in partnership with Verdantas, Ohio University and Mayor’s Partnership for Progress, is pleased to announce the Village of Rutland has successfully submitted a comprehensive application for funding via the Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization Program for the Rutland Civic Center Multi-Purpose Revitalization Project.
The total request for funding is $1,166,297. Of this amount, $444,629 is estimated for construction; $75,587 for architectural design and permitting; $90,349 for general contractors; and $361,350 for environmental remediation.
The Rutland Civic Center Multi-Purpose Revitalization Project is centered on the comprehensive renovation of the Rutland Civic Center, aimed at rejuvenating the building’s lifespan for another 40 years.
Mayor Eblin explains the Center, if awarded funds, will receive environmental remediation; a new roof, fascias, gutters and soffits; new gymnasium windows; new LED lighting and suspended ceilings; a new centralized heating and cooling system; and the reconstruction of the main lobby to include additional space for historical agricultural, coal mining, railroad and Village displays.
A determination on the award of funding is anticipated to be announced by ODNR in December of this year.
