RUTLAND, Ohio — Ghosts and ghouls will soon make their way to the Rutland Civic Center as the Village of Rutland prepares for its third annual Halloween Spooktacular. The event, voluntarily coordinated by Councilmember Madalyn Wood, boasts a night of screams and terror as guests are dared to make their way through the haunted house held inside the Rutland Civic Center building.
This year’s event is planned to be larger, and even more terrifying, than previous years as the Village of Rutland partners with Seabolt & Co. Modern Apothecary, the event’s primary sponsor, who has agreed to provide a cash sponsorship equal to the event’s budget approved by Village Council, and provide other means of assistance.
In addition to a boost in eeriness, the 2025 Rutland Halloween Spooktacular will be a two night event, providing the community an extended opportunity to celebrate Halloween with a spooky scare.
The Spooktacular event will begin with Trick-or-Treat, held throughout the Rutland community from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, followed by a Halloween dance and costume judging contest at the Rutland Civic Center until 8:00 p.m. The haunted house of horrors will begin at 8:00 p.m., and will be held inside the Center building, with admission $5.00 per person. On Friday, October 31, haunted tours will begin at the Rutland Civic Center at 7:00 p.m. and will conclude at 10:00 p.m.
Rutland Mayor Tyler Eblin highlights the dedication of Councilmember Wood, along with Brian Denny and Jamie Seabolt of the Seabolt & Co. Modern Apothecary for their commitment to rendering the event a success.
“The Rutland Halloween Spooktacular builds on a community tradition that has celebrated the spooky holiday for decades,” comments Mayor Eblin. “The event truly augments, and adds to the family fun-filled atmosphere of traditional trick-or-treat, and provides our community with an opportunity to exercise their fine arts creativity, skills and enjoyment.”
"We are thrilled to partner with such a fun and necessary Halloween Spooktackular as only Rutland can offer. Although our brick-and-mortar store is located in another village in the county, we can't stress enough that community means everyone, in every village. and where there is community, you will find Seabolt & Co.,” comments Jamie Seabolt, Owner of Seabolt & Co. Modern Apothecary. "Our monetary and creative commitment to this two day event is a privilege to be part of, and just the beginning of similar partnerships from Seabolt & Co. in The Bend Area."
“Our Village sincerely appreciates Mr. Denny, Mr. Seabolt and the Seabolt & Co. Modern Apothecary for their commitment in partnership ensuring this year’s Spooktacular event is well-accomplished, with scares that families will remember for years to come,” comments Mayor Eblin.
As the Village of Rutland prepares for the event’s implementation, volunteers desiring to fulfill scare roles are encouraged to contact the Rutland Mayor’s Office by calling (740) 742-2121, extension 1000.
